Male – Ben was brought over from Scotland when he was 4 years old by Carol Campion and I purchased him a year and a half later. He knew so much more than I did about trialing! We were at the Bluegrass in Ranch and I gave him the wrong flank at the cross drive panels. Ben stopped dead in his tracks, turned around and looked at me as if to say, “are you sure that’s what you want?”. Those couple of seconds gave me time to realize what I did. I gave him the correct flank and he took the sheep through the panels, penned and ended up 13th. He was so calm in the house, you’d never know he was there. At trials he’d sit in my chair under the handlers tent and watch the runs. Ben was a great dog who died too young. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma at 10. Ben will be remembered by many people, not just me.
